What is this settlement about?

A class action settlement has been reached with Ubisoft over the shutdown of The Crew video game and the expiration of in-game Crew Credits. Plaintiffs allege Ubisoft misled consumers into believing they were buying ownership rights when they only received a limited license, and that the abrupt server shutdown caused purchased in-game currency to expire in violation of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act. Ubisoft denies the claims but has agreed to settle.
