The complaint is brought under Virginia law on behalf of Virginia consumers whose personal information Home Depot allegedly collected and sold without notice. What is this lawsuit about?

A class action alleges Home Depot sold customers' personally identifiable information to third parties without giving notice, in violation of Virginia's Personal Information Privacy Act. The complaint says Home Depot runs a retail media network called Orange Apron Media and passes customer data through a LiveRamp "clean room" to build enhanced profiles for its advertising customers. The litigation is at an early stage — no class has been certified and there is no claims process yet.
