Am I eligible for the Pork Price Fixing settlement?

You qualify if you bought raw pork — bacon, or fresh or frozen bellies, loins, shoulder, ribs or pork chops — at a grocery store for your own use between June 28, 2014 and June 30, 2018, and bought it in one of 24 jurisdictions: Arizona, California, Washington D.C., Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia. It is based on where you bought the pork, not where you live. Organic and "no antibiotics ever" pork is excluded, as is anything other than bacon that was marinated, seasoned, flavored or breaded. No receipts are required — the form asks for your best estimate of how much pork you bought per month. The deadline is October 29, 2026. The class period is June 28, 2014 to June 30, 2018. No proof of purchase is required to file.

What is this settlement about?

An antitrust class action alleges the largest U.S. pork processors — including Tyson, Hormel, Seaboard, Clemens, Triumph, JBS and Smithfield — used the data service Agri Stats to share confidential production information and restrain the supply of pork, inflating prices at the grocery store. The companies deny wrongdoing. Six remaining defendants have agreed to settle: Tyson for $85 million, Clemens $13.5 million, Seaboard $10 million, Hormel $4.465 million and Triumph $4.1 million, for a total of $117.065 million. Agri Stats is changing its business practices but paying nothing. Payments are pro rata, so the amount per person depends on how many people file. The court holds its final approval hearing on December 11, 2026, and payments follow only after that.
