What is this lawsuit about?

A proposed class action filed on May 14, 2026 alleges that xAI's Grok chatbot shares the entirety of users' conversations — including private discussions about finances, health and legal matters — with Google, Meta and TikTok through tracking code embedded on Grok.com to support targeted advertising. The complaint says Meta accesses this data through site tools such as the Facebook Pixel, and claims xAI violated the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the California Invasion of Privacy Act. The litigation is at an early stage — no class has been certified and there is no claims process yet.
